summer sadhana day #6

My sleep is still hosed. I set my alarm for 10:00, but woke up at 11:30, thinking that for some reason the alarm hadn't gone off. Had I only set the time, and forgotten to set the ringer? I mentioned it to my husband, who informed me that the alarm had gone off, that it had woken him up, and that I'd woken up at least enough to switch it off and go back to sleep. I have no memory of this.
Today's practice:
Yoga Zone: Yoga for a Strong & Healthy Back, practice II (undulations) with Douglas Stewart, 19 minutes.
Viniyoga Therapy for the Low Back, Sacrum and Hips: Low Back & Sacrum Therapy practice, with Gary Kraftsow, 23 minutes.
My lower back was a little bit stressed out - really noticed it at my acupuncture appointment - so once more I abandoned the practice that I had originally planned on doing today in favour of really getting in deep with my lower back and loosening everything up nicely. These are two of my favourite practices for doing that, although they are pretty lacking in any kind of meaningful relaxation component. Which isn't to say I wasn't pretty mellow at the end of it - I just didn't achieve quite the level of bliss that I might have wanted. I did achieve the level of muscle relaxation, though, and since that was my main goal for the day, my day was successful.
Maybe I'll do something a bit more spiritual tomorrow.
