After yesterday's wrist setback, I decided not to do a live class this week, but instead fall back to a DVD that I knew was absolutely guaranteed to not strain my wrists unduly: Yoga Zone's Introduction to Yoga. No vinyasas here, just the slow and patient holding of individual poses. Between substituting dolphin for down-dog and sphinx for cobra, and using fists instead of fingers to support my body weight, I managed to get through it without hurting or straining anything. Hooray.

Today's lesson: with patience, it is not only possible to work within your limits and still reap the benefits of yoga, it's crucial. Gentle acceptance of the body's limits is key to a solid yoga practice.
